Karthika VK

Karthika VK is Publisher, Westland Publications Pvt Ltd. She joined publishing in 1996 as an editorial assistant at Penguin Books India and moved to HarperCollins India as Publisher in 2006. She has published several award-winning and commercially successful writers including Aravind Adiga, Amruta Patil, Anuja Chauhan, Josy Joseph, Manu Joseph, Rana Dasgupta, Raghu Karnad, Rohini Mohan and Sarnath Banerjee.

At Westland, she led the launch of a new imprint called Context that publishes literary fiction and political non-fiction. Since its launch in February 2018, Context has published books by Amrita Mahale, Anita Nair, Aparna Jain, Appupen, Arundhathi Subramaniam, Devapriya Roy, Kapil Komireddi, Karthika Nair, Krupa Ge, Manu Pillai, Maxwell Pereira, Mirza Waheed, Namita Devidayal, Neyaz Farooquee, Parismita Singh, Paul Zacharia, Perumal Murugan, Priya Kuriyan, Revaty Lall and Saba Dewan among others.
