Kaninika Mishra

Kaninika Mishra is a corporate learning and development professional with two decades of work experience in corporate training and instructional design. She currently works as Head of Learning and Development at a communications firm in Gurgaon and is the author of three non-fiction books.

Kaninika began her career with the life insurance industry in India at a time when the sector was just liberalised. She wrote her first book to address the lack of information about the industry among students and young professionals. Fundamentals of Life Insurance: Theories and Applications, a textbook, was published by PHI in 2009 and is still a part of the reading list for life insurance related courses in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Kaninika’ s next book The Indian Millionaire Next Door published by Embassy Books, in 2012, chronicles inspiring accounts of the professional journeys of India’s top financial advisors and has been translated into Hindi and Tamil. Her latest book The Indic Quotient: Reclaiming Heritage through Cultural Enterprise was published by Bloomsbury in July 2020. The book contains intimately told tales of successful ventures and imaginative social initiatives centered around heritage products and indigenous ideas.

Kaninika holds a master’s degree from East Carolina University, USA and Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
