It is served by millions of small suppliers oozing innovation and customer intimacy and is powered by digital infrastructure that does billions of unique and small transactions every day.

About Rama Bijapurkar

Rama Bijapurkar is a much sought-after business advisor, passionate ‘people’ researcher, prominent independent director on India Inc.’s boards and author of widely acclaimed books on the Indian market and consumer India. She is recognised as one of India’s influential thought leaders on business-market strategy and consumer economy. Rama describes her work as “bringing market focus and consumer insight to business strategy and providing the ‘people lens’ to understand India’s economy better.”

Rama has been a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) for over two decades. She teaches second-year MBA students and offers executive education programs on customer-based business strategy.

She is among India’s most experienced independent directors having served on the boards of several of India’s blue-chip companies. She is currently on Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., Cummins India, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, Gokaldas Exports Ltd. and Sun Pharma. She has served on the boards of Infosys, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bharat Petroleum, National Payment Corporation of India, CRISIL, Godrej Consumer, Nestle India. In addition, she has been on the governing councils of institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, the Institute for Human Development and the National Institute of Bank Management.

She has been a dominant voice in the media on business and policy. Her popular books include: “We Are Like That Only – Understanding the Logic of Consumer India”, “A Never-Before World – Tracking the Evolution of Consumer India” and “Customer in the Boardroom – Crafting Customer-Based Business Strategy.”

Ms. Bijapurkar holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics from Delhi University and a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

About Deepali Naair

Deepali is the Group CMO at CK Birla Group since March 2023. She has served as CMO at IBM in India & South Asia. She is also a podcast host to a successful series called "Being CEO with Deepali Naair".

Before IBM, she led Marketing and Digital at IIFL Wealth Group of Companies. She was also a non-executive member of the Board at IIFL Wealth Finance. In financial services, she has held leadership positions with L&T Insurance and HSBC. Ms. Naair has also worked with Tata Motors, BPL Mobile, Draft FCB-Ulka; and was the Marketing Manager for Saffola and Mediker at Marico. She headed Products and Marketing at HSBC Global Asset Management and at L&T Insurance she was Head – Marketing, Digital Sales and Customer Service.

Ms. Naair is invited to speak to technology and digital forums. She has been a jury member for Ad Clubs, EMVIES, EFFIES, ABBYs; IAMAI Digital awards & ECHO awards.
